Discover's U.S. Spending Monitor is a monthly survey that measures spending intentions and economic confidence and enables us to keep a finger on the pulse of the consumer spending patterns.

With 500 consumers polled daily and 8,200 polled monthly, the Discover U.S. Spending Monitor pulls from a significantly large sample size giving it a margin of error of only +/- 1 percent. In doing so, Discover is able to take statistically accurate snapshots of consumer confidence and consumer spending intentions on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Surveys are conducted by Rasmussen Reports, an independent survey research firm.
